Step through the Sylvan Doorway into the realm of the Goddess and the Green Man, where the horned one walks the leaf-dappled pathways and bright Áine dances in the greenwood at Midsummer.
Feel the spirit of the trees and hear the stones whisper in a land where the Fae will sing you into another time and space.
Come closer to the fire as the shadows lengthen and the beauty of the night surrounds you; dance to the tunes of your ancestors, hear the legend of Odin’s Wild Hunt and dark tales of immortal desire. And then remember the wise ones who have gone before.
    Spiral Dance bids you welcome.

about

This dance originates in Brittany and can be danced to many different
tunes. We use two tunes called Jan Mijne Man and Go Mauve, learned
from the playing of English dance band Blowzabella. In Europe, the
dance is called as a left foot start with the dancers travelling gently
clockwise. However, in Australia we thought it right and proper to allow our dancers to progress right – which is the Southern
hemisphere’s Sunwise! These dance notes are from the Southern
aspect; change them if you’re in the Northern hemisphere… we do! This is a fantastic way to raise energy so turn up the volume and dance!! Form a circle facing inwards, as many people as you like and just link little fingers with people on either side.
Step on the beat – Right, Left, Right, Hop (on right foot), Left, Right, Left, Hop (on left foot) and so on. The hop on beat 4 and 8 should not be too emphasized and the circle should travel slowly to the right.
