Step through the Sylvan Doorway into the realm of the Goddess and the Green Man, where the horned one walks the leaf-dappled pathways and bright Áine dances in the greenwood at Midsummer.
Feel the spirit of the trees and hear the stones whisper in a land where the Fae will sing you into another time and space.
Come closer to the fire as the shadows lengthen and the beauty of the night surrounds you; dance to the tunes of your ancestors, hear the legend of Odin’s Wild Hunt and dark tales of immortal desire. And then remember the wise ones who have gone before.
    Spiral Dance bids you welcome.

about

About ten years ago, the late Lynne Sinclair-Wood shared a dream with our friend Louise Hewett. In the dream, Lynne gave birth to symbols, almost like runes - the wisdom contained in Celtic art and story, as she emerged from the Bóinne River in Ireland. Lynne’s work in her lifetime was about sharing the wisdom of the ancients and making it relevant for our times. Nick and Adrienne put a melody to the lyrics and it was first sung at Lynne’s final rite of passage and farewell to the Summer Lands in January 2011.

lyrics

It came to my hearing not so long ago
Of a woman lived under the wild rivers flow
With reeds for her blanket and reeds for her bed
And the visions of power grew wild in her head
Oh Grainne, Oh Bóinne, Oh Brighid my queen
I bring you the gifts of the visions I’ve seen
I bring you my body, my voice and my hand
To keep the old magick held deep in your land
She came to the bank with the moon in her hair
She came from the old water dragon’s dark lair
And there from the bank saw the mound shining bright
With the first star of rising with bright silver light
From the mound shone a vision of bright blazing gold
With the serpents and spirals from the mysteries old
And from her body birthed from her in song
Came the visions in symbols she’s carried so long
