This song is all about the dark, mysterious and awesome woman Cleopatra, the last Pharaoh. She was only seventeen when she ascended to the Egyptian throne and died at the age of thirty nine, but in that short time she was married twice (to her older and younger brother) and used her beauty to exploit the sexual weaknesses of the most powerful men in Rome, including Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, in order to save her Kingdom. The Roman senate decried her as a sorceress and she was eventually captured but rather than face the Roman Emperor Octavian, she finally committed suicide using an asp as her death instrument.
